Composed by Bernard Riche and Thierry Pilote, Musicae Se Totem Tradere builds a bridge between music, poetry, humanity and faith.
The need to open horizons and hearts, while highlighting the profound meaning of being, was the guiding principle behind the writing. Like Mussorgsky's musical work Pictures at an Exhibition, the piece was composed in several movements, each representing the vicissitudes of the human being in the face of life's adversities, what makes him unique, what escapes him and what catches up with him.
The jazz trio of Bernard Riche on drums, Yannick Rieu on saxophones and Frédéric Alarie on double bass, symbolizes freedom and madness. The choir, meanwhile, heralds eloquence and verbosity, while faith, rigor and tradition are evoked by the organ. It is the orchestra, the ultimate embodiment of poetry and love, that unites all these universes into one.
